Search is currently ongoing in Delta State following the abduction of the son of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay who was kidnapped on Monday, at his home town, near Ozoro, in Isoko North Local Government Area of the state.
Macaulay who confirmed the incident affirmed thus, “The news of the kidnap of my son has just reached me”.
The SSG who said he was hit by the news of his son’s abduction when he was still on his way from an oversea trip asserted that he had been away to receive some medical attention “I have been away on medical treatment and I just returned when I got the news this morning”.
Having been asked on why his son travelled to the village, he said; “Is it not his home town? Won’t he go to his home town again? He had just finished his Master’s programme outside the country and had been shuttling between Asaba and Owheologbo”.
It was gathered that the kidnappers were yet to establish contacts with the SSG or his Family members
It would be recalled that Pa Samuel Uduaghan, a 70 year old cousin of the Delta State Governor was released two days ago by some kidnappers.
The incessant kidnapping activity in the state has become a major source of worry to most Deltans.
