Nigeria To Expire By Midnight?

Nigeria expires at 12 midnight, according to some ethnic nationality groups inn the country. The groups believe the Amalgamation Treaty of January 1, 1914, which joined Northern and Southern protectorates created Nigeria with a life span of 100 years. The ethnic nationalities, which included Federation of Oodua People, Middle Belt Congress, Lower Niger Congress and Oporoza House, which congregated on the banner of Movement for New Nigeria, MNN, said Nigeria would become history after today and therefore urged all Nigerians to embrace the national conference to agree on fresh terms of co-existing. Speaking at a briefing held at Freedom Park, Lagos attended by Elder Fred Agbeyegbe, Co-coordinator; Tony Nnadi, Secretary-General; Mrs Hilda Dokubo, Timi Kaiser Ogoriba, Chief Dan Ekpebide, Abuka Onalo, Ambah Binaebi, Shade Olukoya and Leye Akinmodiro, the groups urged President Goodluck Jonathan to speed up the national dialogue, warning that it would be disastrous to hold the 2015

Nobel Laureate Soyinka’s Daughter Dies

Iyetade Soyinka, a daughter of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, has died. Ms. Soyinka, who was born June 6, 1965, died at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital where she was being treated for an undisclosed ailment. The death was disclosed in a statement signed by Jahman Anikulapo, an aide to Mr. Soyinka, one of the world’s foremost dramatists and winner of the 1986 Nobel Prize in literature. The statement noted that the late Iyetade Soyinka was a student at the Staff School and Queens School, Ibadan before she studied Medicine at the University of Ibadan. Mr. Anikulapo’s statement described the deceased as “affable, intelligent and sometimes capricious,” adding that she “struggled with her health in recent years.” Despite her health woes, the late Iyetade Soyinka “greeted every day with a smile and doted on her two children.” The statement, which was issued on behalf of the deceased’s family, revealed that Ms. Soyinka “took ill quite suddenly and passed away while being trea

Late Obong Donald Okon Akpabio (Ndemikot) aged 101yrs  In what turned out to be a carnival of sort, Late Obong Donald Okon Akpabio alias Ndemikot, the father of the late broadcaster, Joe Akpabio of Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) was on Friday, the 27th day of December 2013 led to rest at his home town, Ikot Ndien, Edemaya in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Ndemikot was aged 101 years. He is survived by 4 prominent sons and a daughter, 31 grand children, 7 sons/daughters in-law, 11 other in-laws and 49 nephew/nieces amongst whom are Dr. Anthony Akpabio, son; Mrs Patricia Bassey Umaha, daughter; Chief Sony Akpabio, son; Mr. Nnamso Akpabio, son and Mr. Mfreke Akpabio, son. Banker Slices Husband’s Man-Hood With Knife. (Photos)

Found this bizarre story on PM News. A woman took a knife and sliced her husband’s man-hood during a fight at their home in Surulere. Read the report below… The popular saying that hell has no fury than a woman scorned came to pass on Monday at the Surulere residence of a banker, Bimbo Ajetumobi Daniju and her gospel singer husband Olalekan Idowu Daniju when the woman allegedly took a knife and sliced her husband’s man-hood during a fight. Bimbo, staff of a new generation bank in Lagos was said to have accused her husband of not taking care of her and their only child, Opeoluwa. The husband disagreed and while fighting, Bimbo allegedly seized her husband’s man-hood and sliced it with a knife. Bimbo denied using a knife but her fingernails to teach her husband a lesson on how not to treat a woman. The ugly incident happened on Monday at their Falolu Street, Surulere home. NDLEA Arrests Four With N352m Drugs

With just few days to the end of  2013, three customs-licensed clearing and forwarding agents and a motorcycle parts dealer have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA,for attempting to smuggle 352 million naira worth of meth out of the country. This was as a clandestine laboratory, where meth, a powerful addictive stimulant was discovered at a location, off Lekki-Epe Express-way Lagos. The dis-covery has brought the number of such laboratories uncovered by the NDLEA in the last two years to six. *Adewusi Segun with the parcels of meth Meanwhile, the suspects, arrested in connection with the 352 million naira  worth of meth weighing 70.4kg, were identified as Adewuyi Segun, 45, Atebata Godwin, 27, Akpaida Kareem Ajayi, 33 and Ukpabi Paul 36.  It was gathered that they met their waterloo at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, while attempting to export the illicit drugs to Malaysia, through an Ethiopian Airways fligh
