Gunmen Went On Rampage In Rivers, APC Chieftain Killed

Gunmen thought to be cultists have attacked and killed a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Godspower Ayodu and six more people in Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State. The chairman of Ogba Local Government Council, Augustine Ahiamadu in a phone interview with journalists, explained that the town is still in shock as the murderers had moved from home to home, killing innocent civilians. He said that the gunmen were shooting sporadically in Omoku, he said that the incident was a disaster and called for other security agents to get hold of the matter. Ahiamadu said that the security details should apprehend the criminals as failure to do so would give other criminals the gut to comit worse crimes in the LGA. Jude 'Engees' Okoye, the older brother and manager of P-Square has welcomed a baby girl with his wife, Ify. Ify gave birth at 7.29pm at Northside Hospital Atlanta, Georgia, yesterday Saturday Nov. 29th. Mother and daughter are doing great. The little bundle of joy has been named Princess Emma Adanna Okoye. Yesterday former couple Elikem and Pokello fought over some woman on instagram (read here). Elikem has gone on the record to explain who the woman is, his relationship with her and how it's affecting his relationship with ex-fiancee, Pokello. The woman is Gloria Lamptey (pictured right), the former wife of former Ghanaian international footballer star Nii Odartey Lamptey. A few years ago, Nii discovered that the three children he had with Gloria were not his biological children after he did a DNA following suspicion his wife was not faithful. Scores Of Worshippers Killed In Mosque Bombing Where The Emir Of Kano Worships

Scores of worshippers were killed this afternoon in a bomb explosion which ripped through the Central mosque where the Emir of Kano worships regularly on Fridays. The explosion, which also left many injured, occurred ahead of Friday prayers. While the security agencies are yet to issue a statement, some accounts say that over 200 persons may have been killed in the incident. The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi ll, regularly worships at the mosque, but SaharaReporters has learned that he is away in Mecca. Scores of dead bodies are presently been evacuated to mortuaries in Kano town while survivors are also being taken to nearby hospitals. The attack is coming barely two weeks after the Emir, in the same mosque, urged citizens to take their destiny in their hands and protect communities from those carrying out violent attacks.

Fayose Hit Back At Obasanjo For Daring Jonathan

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, flayed former President Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly criticising Jonathan’s administration on corruption and insecurity. Fayose, who spoke at a summit in Ife, said that Obasanjo had no moral justification to criticise Jonathan’s administration because the former President’s government was far more corrupt than the one he criticised. The attack from Fayose came just as notable leaders of the Yoruba race present at the summit endorsed Jonathan for a second term in office. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, led notable traditional rulers from many Yoruba towns majority of who are from Ekiti State to the summit. Afrobeat king, Femi Kuti says he recently found out that two out of the 5 children he always thought were his, weren't. In an interview with Encomium mag, Femi said a DNA test conducted on a boy and a girl named Tosin and Dupe who were born after his first son, Made, showed he's not their biological father. "I did a DNA test and was told two of the children are not mine. The first two (after Made), a boy and a girl. It is very serious. I never knew somebody could give you what is not yours. I’ve three boys now. I can’t father children I was tricked to believe I am their father,” he said Femi says he has since returned the children to their mothers.

American Wife To Get $530million In Britain's Biggest Divorce Payout

A judge in a London High Court ruled that the American wife of a British Tycoon be given $530m in a divorce payout. This is considered to be the biggest divorce settlement so far in British history. The estranged wife of finance tycoon Christopher Hohn will receive an equivalent of N96 billion. The judge awarded Jamie Cooper-Hohn $493 million in cash and the rest in the form of a property in Connecticut and adjustments to her share of a pension. A full judgment will be published in December, but the figures were cited during a court hearing yesterday November 27. She was initially seeking half of her ex-husband's assets, but he said she was entitled to just a quarter on the grounds that his talents as an investor constituted a special contribution to their wealth. Dieziani Alison-Madueke Elected First Female President Of OPEC

Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum, Dieziani Alison-Madueke has been elected the first female president of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). She was elected today at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of the body in Vienna, Austria. She replaces former president of OPEC, Libyan Vice Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar-Ahirish. She was elected for one year and is expected to immediately resume office. Source

Emir Of Kano, Sanusi, Advises Nigerians To Arm Themselves Against Boko Haram

Former CBN governor and Emir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi has advised Nigerians who are constantly faced with attacks from Boko Haram members, to arm themselves against further attacks from the sect. According to BBC, the respected ruler said this at a prayer meeting last Friday. "These terrorists slaughter our boys and abduct our girls to force them into slavery. People should not be afraid of them because of the recent success they seem to have achieved. People should not sit idle and say prayer is the only solution. People should be made aware of the importance of being in a state of preparedness and make sure they acquire what they need to protect themselves. People must not assume that the crisis will not reach their area. Stevie Wonder Denies Expecting Triplets

There were reports a few weeks ago that Stevie Wonder was expecting a set of triplets with his 40yr old girlfriend, Tomeeka Bracy. Turns out that rumor was only one-third correct. Jonathan, Ghanaian, Ivoirian Presidents Storm Uyo Today For Inauguration Of Akwa Ibom Stadium

Akwa Ibom will today play host to three African leaders, and sports icons across the continent, who are to witness the inauguration of Akwa Ibom Stadium, executed by the administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio. Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, at a press briefing, last Wednesday, said that President Goodluck Jonathan will inaugurate the 30,000-capacity stadium, in company of the Ghanian President, John Mahama and his Cote D’Ivoire counterpart, Alassane Dramane Ouattara. Also expected in the State are, the Vice President of FIFA and President of Confederation of African Football, Issa Hayattou, as well as football legends.
