Rivers APC candidate demands a refund of money from INEC

A shocking video has surfaced online of Azubuike Nwajoku, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, demanding a refund of some money he gave an electoral officer. According to video, the man stormed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office on Sunday, demanding a refund of his N12million which he allegedly gave the officer to enable him win last weekend’s election into the Rivers state House of Assembly. Chibuike Nwajoku at the INEC office, demanding a refund of his money after losing the last election. The Trent reports that the man made his way into the INEC office in Ikwerre local government area, alongside his thugs, demanding the money he paid since he did not win in the said local government area. 15 year old suicide bomber detained in Cameroon says she's one of Chibok girls

According to Reuters, a 15 year old female suicide bomber who was arrested with a bomb in Limani village, an area of northern Cameroon, today March 25th, says she is one of the Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in April 2014. The girl and another suicide bomber were reportedly apprehended by the villagers and handed over to the Cameroonian soldiers who interrogated them. "One of them indeed declared that she is one of the Chibok hostages. She is around 15. We are now verifying, because on the Nigerian side they have the names and photos of these girls," said local government administrator Raymond Roksdo. Two military sources who spoke anonymously, confirmed that the girl had claimed to have been one of the Chibok abductees. "We need a few days to be able to confirm this information. We have to debrief all the men who were present and interrogate the two girls before we can say anything," one of the military sources said.

Saraki late to Buhari’s meeting with APC leaders

Bukola Saraki, senate president, arrived late for a meeting of the caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday night. Former vice-president Atiku Abubakar also arrived late for the meeting which was held behind closed doors with President Muhammadu Buhari at new banquet hall of the presidential villa. Saraki is currently fighting charges of false declaration of assets at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The meeting started at 8pm when Buhari arrived, but Atiku and Saraki got to the hall thereafter. Jose Mourinho has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with Manchester United to take over as the new coach of the club this summer. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended all actions on the legislative rerun election in Rivers state over reported irregularities. Results have been declared in 10 constituencies, with the Peoples Democratic Party winning in nine, leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) with one. Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, INEC’s director in charge of voter education and publicity, said the suspension does not affect constituencies where the exercise has been completed and results declared by the returning officers. President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration would generate 10,000 megawatts of distributable power over the next three years, against 20,000 promised. Speaking at the national economic council (NEC) retreat on Monday, the president said the power situation in the country is no longer a laughing matter. “Nigerians’ favourite talking point and butt of jokes is the power situation in our country. But, ladies and gentlemen, it is no longer a laughing matter,” he said. “We must and by the grace of God we will put things right. If you think a canine wedding is bizarre then consider that it was no puppy affair with over 5000 guests in attendance complete with all the trappings of a traditional Hindu wedding. The unusual ceremony was held in the village of Parawa, in the northern-Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The groom, Shagun, and his bitch, Shaguniya, were dressed in children's clothes and said their vows on a purpose-built podium to raucous cheers from the crowd. Jung, the father of the bitch, said: 'I raised her like my own daughter. Today, I am giving her hand in marriage to Shagun. I wish the couple a happy married life together.' Excited guests danced to music played by an orchestra and traditional Indian cuisine was served to hungry revellers. Jung gave Shaguniya a tearful send off as his beloved pet departed in the car with the groom. Guests said the unusual ceremony was a 'historic one', which demonstrated Indian society's love for their dogs.

PDP: APC plotting emergency rule in Rivers

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of plotting to impose a state of emergency on Rivers state by inciting violence in the state. The PDP national leadership in a statement issued by Olisa Metuh, its spokesman, on Thursday, warned that “dire consequences would follow any attempt by the APC to push its plot to impose a state of emergency in the oil-rich state”. The Director General of the Pen­sion Transition Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Nellie Mayshak, has been placed on indefinite suspension and is being investigated after it was discovered that she allegedly re­ceived N50 million monthly in salary plus other allow­ances. According to The Sun, the discovery was made possible via the Bank Verification Number (BVN) which the CBN used to trace the money being paid to her account every month. Religious Bill: Revoke your law or die – Apostle Johnson Suleiman dares Governor El-Rufai

Last week, news that the Federal government was importing grasses from Brazil for Nigeria's livestock was rife on Social media. According to the reports, the Federal government in its bid to revamp the agricultural sector, was planning to import high valued grasses from Brazil that will be given to Nigerian cows which will make them grow well and also increase their yield. Seven-Hour Wait For Ese’s Parents Ends In Vain

The long wait of journalists for the parents of Ese Oruru, the minor allegedly abducted from Bayelsa state and taken to Kano state, ended in vain on Tuesday, as the police could only confirm when late in the evening that they had arrived Abaji, Abuja. Olabisi Kolawole, police spokesperson, told journalists, who had waited for seven hours at the police headquarters, that the teenager would be handed over to her parents on Wednesday. “My initial plan was to invite you when they are here,” she said.
