A woman identified as Maureen (surname withheld), a native of Benin city, Edo state, is said to have poisoned her husband with “Chemical poison” for not getting enough s*xual attention from him, in Asaba, Delta state.
According to the police, her husband, a businessman by profession, is currently admitted in the hospital and the suspect is being detained at the ‘A’ Division for further investigations.Leadership reports:
It was learnt that the suspect had complained bitterly to her relations of the husband’s “lack of s*xual attention” to her, and threatened to make life unbearable for him, but was advised to “drop” such sinister plans.
Sources said the husband allegedly swim in litany of s*x scandals especially with married women and in most cases, his victims attack the wife to call the husband to order.
As it were, the incident took place on Sunday night when the victim who lives around Otuogu, Asaba, reportedly returned home late and was perceived to have been drunk by the wife who had allegedly prepared his meal with the Chemical substance that was given to him.
Trouble started when after he ate the meal and was vomiting; a process neighbours who heard his screaming dashed to the scene and rushed him to a nearby hospital where the doctors diagnosed him of food poisoning after a long battle.
A senior police office who did not want his name in print, said upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime saying she committed the act to teach him a lesson.
