Breaking News: Village Headmaster, Justus Esiri, is Dead!

Veteran actor, Justus Esiri passed away yesterday (February 19, 2013) at the age of 70. The late actor was born November 20, 1942 in Oria-Abraka, Delta State. He attended Urhobo College, Effurun, in the former Bendel State. He left Nigeria for Germany in the 60s to study Engineering. It was in Germany that he developed his interest in acting.

He returned to Nigeria following an invitation in 1977 by a government delegation to Germany. During the course of his career, he acted for stage, television and film. Some of his movies include Things Fall Apart, Rising Moon, Day of Atonement, Who Will Tell The President, and Kingdom of Men.

He was a recipient of the National Award, Member of the Order of the Niger (MON). He is the father of Onoriode Esiri, known commonly as, Dr SID, a Nigerian singer-songwriter. He is also the father of a daughter, Boyowa.
