Akpabio redeems pledges, presents 3m naira cheque, a brand new Prado jeep to 2face and wife

Hip hop star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face and his wife, Annie Macauley-Idibia couldn’t hide their joy on Thursday as they were full of praises when they received their brand new one unit Toyota Prado jeep and a cheque of 3million naira from the governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Aniekan Umanah at Victoria Island, Lagos State.

Governor Akpabio last week in Eket was reported to have declared a gift of a brand new Toyota Prado SUV for the couple and also vowed to sponsor 20 family members of the Akwa Ibom State born bride to their forthcoming nuptial in Dubai.

The couple who arrived the Liaison office of the state government at Victoria Island in the company of their friends and family were received by Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, Special to Assistant on Media to the governor, Jackson Udom and the Liaison Officer, Joseph Etem.

While speaking during the presentation of the car keys and a cheque of 3 million naira, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Aniekan Umanah said the governor’s decision to donate wedding gifts to the new couple was well intentioned act of a father to show to love and support as they begin their new marital journey.

He said it was only a gesture of love and goodwill in appreciation of Mrs Annie Macauley - Idibia for standing by her husband from his days of humble beginnings, saying governor Akpabio approved donated one vehicle and not two as against the the misrepresentation in sections of the media.

The delighted couple expressed their appreciation to the Akwa Ibom State government under the leadership of governor Akpabio, ‘’we are happy that the governor has made good his promises, little wonder people call him the promise keeper. 2face said he was looking forward to his white wedding in Dubai with his wife noting that the choice of Dubai was strategic for them.

The couple said further "we know this is a sign of good things to happen to our family as we begin the journey. We are planning to take our white wedding to Dubai and we appreciate governor Akpabio for his kind gesture. Words cannot really explain how we feel right now for the love and support we have received so far since the pronouncement of the wedding’’.
