For
some time now, motorists plying the popular Udu Road in Warri have been
suffering from untold hold-ups resulting from failed portions of the road. From
Enerhen junction through Motel, the story is the same. The flash point at the
Motel T-junction is always pathetic with the chaotic traffic flow. Recently, some good Samaritans filled these
areas with stones to enable passers-by drive with ease hereby reducing the
traffic flow. The Orhuwhorun junction with
all the adjoining areas is now a death trap, especially when rain falls. Here
you could spend minimum 45 minutes to drive through the busy Jigbale market
area.
Apart
from the failed area, the traders in this market have taken over the dual carriageway
thereby multiplying the effect of the hold-ups.
As seen in the pictures, driving through the roundabout require much
caution, else you fall into a ditch especially when it rains. There is an indication within the Udu Road end
of the expressway that repairs is being carried out to address this ugly
situation. Until this is achieved, driving along Udu Road is nightmare
experience.
