Work is currently going on
along DSC Expressway up to Aladja axis. It is believed the reason may not be
unconnected with the ongoing Resort project near Aladja. From the pictures, one
will notice heaps of interlocking paving stones. These stones are proposed to
interlock the dual pavements adding beauty to the network of the road. Our
roving cameraman, Mr. Sunday Akpan who took time to examine the current work
has this to say … “I met one colleague who was driving pass the said area and
his comments was not applauding. He asked a question like ‘What has the society
got to benefit from this beautification?" Mr. Chris Pidei who holds a master degree
in communications went forward to advise that the said beautification would
have been channeled to productive use and wondered how many people will make
use of the pavements. He concluded by
saying that, instead, the road itself would have been rather expanded, graded
and or resurfaced.
