Now that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also confirmed that Nigeria is on the path to RECESSION as evident in General Buhari’s ‘No Policy’ policy of governance, no distinctive approach to stabilize the economy or try to balance or reconcile its distinctive layers, and no defined terms on encouraging the nation’s FDI since its inception, how will Nigeria ever get itself off this path?
Has General Buhari shown any visible or meaningful leadership skills in any of the sectors so far that would make anyone say, ‘Yes, for sure there is hope’?
With General Buhari practically killing the private sector with his inactive dictatorial leadership and foreverly working on his invisible drawing board that has so far produced corrupt and dodgy men from the past as Ministers, how will the value of the naira ever look up? How would any serious nation ever feel secure to do business in a country with an unserious president who has refused to set up a cabinet more than 5 months after he was sworn in and 7 months since he was declared winner of a flawed election?
What’s worse, when we try to wake Buhari and his party from their working slumber, to sit up and do the job of governance and to stop campaigning even while in office, some of their sycophantic clowns that have either been mesmerized by the thought of General Buhari’s sainthood, or been hypnotized by some collabo spell from some waved brooms or are blinded by tribal sentiment would jump out and tell you that General Buhari is fixing the mess from the past administration.
Really? So, Buhari is fixing the mess of an administration whose economic policies placed Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa? So Buhari wants to fix policies that made Nigeria the number one investment destination in Africa and 4th in the world? He wants to correct the policies that single handedly reduced hunger in Nigeria by 7.6% with its strides in agriculture and set us on the path to food sufficiency?
An administration that was able to establish a SWF of over $4bn, one that stabilized our FR at a benchmark of $38bn – $48bn for years with subsequent ECAs that was duly shared as required by law?
An administration that had the federal roads as construction sites by maintaining, expanding and establishing new roads? An administration that singled handedly established 12 universities from the scratch and rehabilitated several more?
One that rehabilitated out airports and brought it to civilization after 20 years in the dark? And many more positives for Nigeria that I don’t want to spend time listing here.
Is that the administration General Buhari’s no policy government wants to fix?
I think it is time to stop horsing around. General Buhari needs to show Nigerians what we should expect from him in terms of development given that he has denied making any campaign promises.
What “CHANGE” should we be expecting from Buhari? Backwards or forwards?
