It was sadness and joy last week at Escravos community near Warri in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria when a 3 months old baby was swallowed and later found to be alive in the belly of a huge python. The couple whose names were not immediately identified or concealed for other reasons, were said to be discussing with a visitor in front of their house when they heard the baby crying inside the room. Because they wasted time attending to the baby and when they didn't hear the sound of the baby cry any longer the mother dashed down to see what was wrong only to find out that the baby was no longer there rather a huge python was found laying and couldn't move. The villagers were alerted, and the python was butchered. To the disclosure of everybody, when the python was opened, the baby was not only found but found to be alive. When De Bliss visited Escravos, the scene of the miracle, one of the community leaders who craved annonymity maintained that in their entire life and in the history of Escravos, one of the leading oil producing areas of Niger Delta, they have not seen anything like that.
