The country and pop megastar recently announced that she will be going back on the road after 11 years. Born Eileen Regina Edwards in Windsor, Ontario, on August 28, 1965, this will be the last tour of the Canadian singer and songwriter. Shania Twain, the impressive music star with mega voice announced her last tour on a television show on March 4, 2015. Her tour titled ‘Rock This Country’ will begin on June 5 in Seattle and will span around 48 cities. The singer will also reportedly release her fifth album at the end of the tour when she turns 50. Her last tour Up! was in 2003-04.
Shania recorded her debut album in 1993. She released her eponymous studio album Shania Twain with Mercury Records Nashville.
Although her first venture wasn't a hit when it first released (1993), her subsequent albums garnered her a fan base that led to the album being a hit eventually and it was certified platinum.
Her next album, The Woman in Me (1995) sold more than 10 million copies. It was certified 12 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and established Shania as a crossover star almost overnight.
Shania's The Woman in Me album had hit songs like "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?" "Any Man of Mine," and “I'm Outta Here!". It earned the singer a Grammy award for Best Country Album in 1996. By this time, she has already won, CMT - (Europe): Rising Star and Canadian Country Music Association Awards (CCMA's): Album of the Year (The Woman in Me) as well as Female Vocalist of the Year besides other accolades.
Good luck struck Shania again when her album Come On Over, released in 1997, became a huge commercial success. It had eight hit singles, including "You're Still the One," "Love Gets Me Everytime," "Honey, I'm Home," and "You've Got a Way" among others. The album sold 17 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling country album of all time.
