A new twist has surfaced in the ‘Nollywood movie’ currently being played by former House of Representatives member, Dino Melaye , and Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, with the inclusion of a new character.
Over the past few days, both parties have kept the social buzzing over accusations and counter accusation’ by the actress over the paternity of the child in her womb.
The character in question is Melaye’s brother-in-law, Moses Yomi –Fabiyi, who spoke out for the first time on Monday on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, a day after his sister and Melaye’s wife, Tokunbo, threw her weight behind her husband via the same site.
Fabiyi, who claimed to be the brother of Melaye’s legal wife, Tokunbo, who bore him three children, said his in-law was indeed guilty of all the allegations.
His tweets, which came in quick succession, read, “I know Dino to be an unrepentant liar. I believe he got that lady (Bisi) pregnant. Why not be a good man and own up, then apologise to his wife (Tokunbo)? He should try something else. Everyone, including his family, are aware (that) he got her (Bisi) pregnant. Seeing how things turned for him, he suddenly became an activist. The luck Dino has is that he married one of the calmest Fabiyi girls. Else, it would’ve been a different gist totally.”
He further added, “I am Barr. Moses Yomi Fabiyi from Ekinrin Adde in Ijumu LGA in Kogi State. Dino happened to represent my constituency at the National Assembly (NASS).I make bold to say (that) there is no physical contribution from Dino’s term as our representative. Please ask Mr ‘Upright what happened to constituency allocations? Little wonder the PDP refused to give him ticket to re-run which made him (to) decamp to ACN and lost woefully on that platform.”
Narrating how their paths crossed, Bisi said she was introduced to Melaye by fellow actress Lola Alao, and over time they became an item. During a trip to Canada she found out she was pregnant and immediately informed Melaye who was in Nigeria and he was excited about it. She also added that when she got back, he proposed to her. According to her, the bad times began shortly after, when the lawmaker asked her to have an abortion with the excuse that his church frowned at pregnant brides and has since then lost contact with Melaye.
Meanwhile, Tokunbo also took to Twitter throwing her weight behind her husband. “I am solidly behind my hubby. No shaking and please! Enough with all the rumour mongering! Why would anyone attack my hubby over falsehood? Please get your facts right. I am solidly behind my man.
Bisi has reportedly challenged Dino to be ready for a DNA test for the baby after birth.
In response, he described Bisi’s claims as an “Africa Magic’s story and an expression of fiction.
When contacted, Melaye declined making any further comments saying, “What do you want to know,’’ in response to queries.
