Speaking through Lere Olayinka, his special assistant on public communications and new media, Fayose said: “Only God’s intervention can save Nigeria from the present economic and security problems, as it is glaring that the man running the affairs of the country at the federal level does not have any answer to the problems. “Even the Holy Bible said in James 1:5 that if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask God and as it is, Nigerians must assist the president in asking for wisdom and understanding to tackle t...

Crowds flock to Catholic church after image of virgin Mary appears on window (photos)

Crowds of worshippers are surging to the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia, and it's not as a result of the priest's sermon. It's thanks to what the pastor describes as a 'divine occurrence' after an image of the virgin Mary appeared on the church's window. Visitors have left flowers beneath the window and built a makeshift altar. Responding to allegations that the 'divine occurrence' may have more mortal origins, the church's pastor Father Bernardo Molina says he did not create the image himself. 'There are a lot of people that may think it's a stain or condensation. They ask if I drew it,' he said. 'No, no, no. There's no way you can do that,' he added. Father Molina said the unusual mark appeared on the window on December 12 and can be seen on most sunny days. One woman who was among the throngs queuing up to see the 'miracle' was in tears as she prayed to the silhouette. 'Believe, beli...

AKWA IBOM APPEAL JUDGEMENT IS A TOTAL FRAUD – Femi Falana

The senior advocate of Nigeria Mr Femi Falana today on Channel’s Tv described the Appeal Court Judgement of Akwa Ibom State Governorship Election as fraud, against the integrity of the Judiciary. The Legal luminary and human right activist said that the judgement contradicted both the Supreme Court Precedents and the Constitution, he warned the All Progressive Congress to stop the wanton destruction of the Country’s Judiciary over what he termed as greedy political agitation, which is capable of dividing the country. Mr Falana wondered how the same Appeal Court which delivered Judgement on the Lagos Governorship Election , on the premise that the Card reader cannot invalidate an election , and same was upheld by the supreme Court. Where-as in Akwa Ibom Judgement, the jurist used card reader to annul the election. On the same day that Akwa Ibom State election was annulled , the same Appeal Court delivered Judgment on the Yobe State Governorship election , citing the Jud...

Nigerian Govt. Vows To Reactivate Ajaokuta, ALSCON

The Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi, has described the current status of both the Ajaokuta Steel Company and Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria as symbols of collective shame and embarrassment for all Nigerians. However, both multi-billion dollar projects have been entangled in dubious and corrupt privatisation arrangements and subsequently abandoned to waste. But speaking in Abuja at his inaugural media briefing on the state of the country’s solid minerals sector, the Minister said the Federal Government has resolved to turn the companies’ fortunes around and give value to Nigerians. “Not many things have had a sobering effect on me as what I have seen in the solid mineral sector since I took up this assignment,” the minister said. “It is a co...
