But the Amazing Spider-Man actress, who was given the accolade by a whole host of fashion magazines - including style bible Vogue and InStyle, finds her fashionable title "hilarious."
Speaking in a new interview, the 24-year-old said her fashion triumphs are all down to her stylist, Petra
Flannery.
"[Being named 'Best Dressed'] was just hilarious," she told Glamour magazine.
"I mean, I have a stylist, and she's the voice of reason behind anything I've worn on the red carpet over the past few years."
Emma revealed the secret to their style partnership is that she understands just what she won't wear on the red carpet.
"She knows that I won't dress like a fairy princess, wear a lot of glitter or anything that makes me look like a Victorian doll," she laughed.
"If I could wear those things and not look like Dakota Fanning when she was eight, maybe, but I just don't look good on them."
The American starlet, who dazzled us with her fashion credentials at the Annual CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in a Burberry midnight-blue peplum corset and emerald-green skirt, did however allow herself to take some of the credit for her fashionable choices though.
Crediting her mother Krista for giving her style advice when she was young, Emma said: "When I was a teenager and all the cool girls were wearing their pyjama pants in school, my mother would forbid me to do that - or to let my bra straps show."
Emma, who is currently dating fellow actor Andrew Garfield, might be the Style Icon of 2012 - but she still has insecurities like everyone else.
She added: "Everybody has parts of their body that they dislike, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over them."
